1. Describe a bit about yourself?

I am from Adelaide and from Monday to Friday, 8 to 5pm I am a Mathematics teacher. However outside of work my passion is for fashion. I love to read fashion magazines, browse through boutique sites and find inspiration for fashion on Instagram. I love to see how others style up bags, clothes and accessories. I also spend a lot of time on my own putting my own outfits together, you can check it out my outfit inspirations on my IG @katlittlepeite.

2. How did you get into luxury?

Since I was in my teens I used to watch these Taiwanese beauty shows that show cased many designer brands; Gucci, Chanel, Dior, Armani, Louise Vuitton etc. The shows showcased beauty products, ready to wear, accessories and handbags – I was obsessed. But obviously I was still in high school and my parents were not about to go spurge on these items. So, when I was 17, I started tutoring Mathematics and I saved really hard so that I could finally buy my first designer bag. She was a Gucci!

Over the years I have bought from a variety of brands: Chanel, Dior, Gucci, YSL, Bally, Louis Vuitton and Armani. However right now my favourites are Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton because the never go on sale haha 😊

Recently 2019 I gave birth to my beautiful son Baby H and one of the most exciting items to buy for his arrival was my baby bag! Read below to find out what baby bag I chose to use.

3. What was the process you took to pick a designer nappy bag?

The key features I considered:
1. Weight
2. Size
3. Shoulder straps or top handle
4. Style i.e. will it match my outfit?

I am petite (155cm) so I needed a large bag that also suited my frame. One key feature was I wanted this bag to function well for me as a new mum but it could also be used for brunch with the girls, date with the hubby or for running errands.

The bags I have picked were:

  1. Chanel Deauville Tote
  2. Prada Canapa Tote
  3. Christian Dior Book Tote

This bag is so chic and stylish, it comes in many different colours and each season they bring out the bag in a new design. The bag is versatile as it there is a shoulder strap and top handle. It fits a lot and the best thing is that it looks great when dressed casually, corporate or with a summer dress! I often use this bag for work.

Prada Canapa Tote

I fell in love with this bag when I saw it on the famous youtuber Lydia Elise Millen. This bag is light in weight and comes with an adjustable shoulder strap allowing you to wear is cross body. The bag is casual and perfect for travelling. It maintains a great structure; the only downside is it gets dirty easily due to the nature of the fabric. The darker the colour of the bag the more visible the wear.

I have been lusting over this bag before it was even available in Australia. It is absolutely stunning and once again it can be dressed up or worn casually. It is super lightweight, although it fits all the baby essentials you need to be prepared to constantly hold the bag and baby because there is no shoulder strap. Great bag to go out with when you’re with baby and hubby haha!

5. Which nappy bag inserts do you recommend and why?

I use the Samorga and TNS (The Nappy Society) insert.  The Samarga is good for bags that need support with structure. So this is perfect for the Chanel Deaville and the TNS insert is fantastic as it includes many compartments for you to neatly organise your baby items.

6. Overall, what is your favourite designer nappy bag?

My favourite nappy bag will have to go to….. drum roll…… The Chanel Deauville.

I believe the size and style is great for people of different height and size. The versatility of the shoulder strap and top handle is fantastic and finally it will fit ALL of or baby’s essentials.

I hope you have enjoyed my review and recommendations. To all the amazing mama’s out there, stay healthy, safe and stylish.
